Call Salek’s Motors today and book in for MOT testing at a modern workshop in the Southampton area with dedicated inspection bays. We perform inspections in the Class IV category and offer a fair, impartial service that checks different safety and roadworthiness aspects on your vehicle. All MOTs meet the current testing criteria set by the DVSA and we welcome customers from all parts of Hampshire.
Having dedicated MOT inspection bays help appointments run to time while fitting in with the needs of walk-in customers from Southampton, Eastleigh, Totton and the surrounding areas.
MOT testing is a mandatory requirement in the UK on all cars aged three years or over. It is an offence to drive without an MOT certificate and, in addition to invalidating the terms of an insurance policy, non-compliance could see the owner fined up to £1,000. It is always a more prudent, ethical and responsible choice to arrange MOTs ahead of an expiry date.
Salek’s Motors helps in this regard by sending out reminders to existing customers in the Southampton area well in advance of the next due MOT inspection. Book in early and we can test up to one full month before the current certificate expires.
Please read the testimonials of our previous customers, many of whom use us as a preferred choice for Class IV MOT testing on all family vehicles, and who recommend us to other drivers.
MOT testing combines dozens of checks on your car to cover the lights, mirrors, wipers, seatbelts, windscreen and exhaust system. The UK has more than 21,000 approved centres. All workshops performing MOTs, including those in Southampton and Hampshire, display an official blue sign consisting of three white triangles – two to the top and one at the bottom.
All items in the MOT test relate to safety, roadworthiness and emissions. The inspection doesn’t cover the performance of the engine, the gearbox or the transmission system.
Typically, an MOT takes 45 minutes to complete. Should your car fail the test and you’d like to leave it at our garage in Southampton for any subsequent repairs, we’ll do everything possible to finish the required work on the same day and to perform a free re-test. Motorists from Eastleigh, Totton and Hampshire can only drive away from MOT testing centres after a failure if they still have a current certificate, or if they are taking their cars to other garages for repair work.
We invite customers to relax in a comfortable viewing area and to watch our inspectors perform MOTs while enjoying a complimentary tea or coffee. If you would rather leave your vehicle at our Southampton workshop before going to work and then pick it up again on the way home, this won’t be a problem and we’ll do everything we possibly can to accommodate you.
Should your car need repairs after failing an MOT test, we promise to seek your approval for them. We will never start any extra work until we have an agreement to do so.
Wherever in Hampshire you happen to be, be it in Southampton or maybe in the wider Eastleigh and Totton areas, we promise to be honest and transparent from the outset, and to make MOT testing a positive experience for every customer visiting us.
